You may know that your Veterinarian has gone through rigorous schooling and testing to enter into their profession, but did you know that your Licensed Technicians have also done extensive training and testing to obtain their licensure? The standards they are tested on and continue to be upheld to, ensure your pet is in competent, compassionate hands!
Alicia S., LVT
Alicia joined Woodhaven in 2014 after spending 4 years working in various companion animal, feline shelter and therapeutic equine services. She obtained her veterinary technician license in December of 2011 and has enjoyed being back in companion animal medicine. In her spare time, Alicia loves to geocache and work on her project car.
Christina G., LVT
Christina joined Woodhaven in 2016 with 11 years of experience as a licensed veterinary technician. She graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor's in Zoology and has an Associate's in Veterinary Technology. She has volunteered as an LVT for World Vets, traveling the world to bring veterinary medical services to places that wouldn't otherwise have access.
This field cultivates her passion of science and medicine - she thrives on understanding how to keep our furry family members feeling good! Besides spending her free time with her husband, her adorable baby girl, two cuddly cats Henry and Calypso, and elderly dog Davey, (who gets all the cuddles too!), she enjoys running, skiing, playing clarinet, rock climbing and camping.
Jessica T., LVT
Jessica graduated from tech school in 2004 while living in San Antonio, TX and working at her first veterinary job. After leaving the aviation maintenance field.
She and her daughter moved to be near family again in Anacortes, WA in 2007. There she worked at a small animal clinic that also saw injured wildlife before being taken for rehab.
Jessica has been with Woodhaven since 2012 as an LVT and inventory manager. Her favorite parts of being a technician are helping our patients by educating the clients on subjects such as: behavior, dentistry, and nutrition/patient weight management.
She enjoys spending time with her teenager, cats and ferrets, fixing things, beaches and crafts.
Lauren W., LVT
Lauren joined the Woodhaven team in 2016 after completing her associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology at Pierce College. She also has a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Whitworth University. Lauren loves being part of the Woodhaven family and caring for all of our fabulous patients.
In her free time Lauren enjoys camping, fishing, gardening, photography and spending quality time with her family. She is always up for an adventure with her two wonderful beagles, Remy and Flynn.
Mel M., LVT
Mel joined Woodhaven in 2017 and brings to WVC over 15 years of experience as an LVT. She has had the pleasure of working in day practice, emergency and shelter environments. She is thrilled to join Woodhaven and develop strong relationships with the clients and pets.
Besides having to stop and say hello to every dog she sees, Mel loves spending time in the woods at her cabin in the north cascades, foraging wildcrafting, playing in the dirt, and constant building projects to keep busy. She is an advocate for wildlife habitat rehabilitation and restoration through the use of native plants and volunteering with conservation districts.
Sara M., LVT
After obtaining her undergraduate degree at UW in wildlife management, Sara began working in various zoo and wildlife rehabilitation centers. Wanting to merge her interests, she began working in companion animal medicine in 2011, finally joining Woodhaven in 2012.
In 2019 Sara obtained her veterinary technician license after working full time and going to online tech school. When not at WVC Sara enjoys baking, camping, fishing and hunting. She has been an avid hockey player since high school and loves all things sports! Sara lives on a small homestead with her fiance, their 3 dogs, Chinook, Sequoia and Rosco. The homestead is also home to 2 kitties, Shiva and Rozzi, a rabbit named Gamora and a flock of chickens.
Meet our skilled Veterinary Assistant Team
Our veterinary assistants are a group of talented veterinary medical care givers who support our doctors and patients.
Halie joined WVC in 2018, after spending time working at another local practice, honing her assistant skills. She is looking forward to working in a larger practice and continuing to learn all she can about veterinary medicine. She has a very special pup named Handsome and loves bringing him to work.
Hannah started working at WVC in 2021 after working at the Forest Park Animal Farm and Broadway Animal Hospital. She completed a Veterinary Assistant program at Pima Medical in 2020. Hannah has always enjoyed working with animals and have a few furry critters of her own. She loves all animals big and small, but bunnies are one of her favorites.
While not working or hanging out with one of her furry friends, she enjoy's drawing, hiking, and playing the guitar. Hannah is excited to continue to learn and grow here at WVC and feels very fortunate to be able to do what she loves.
Heather joined Woodhaven in 2009 after spending many years working in zookeeping. Graduating in 2003 with a Master's in Biology, Heather knew she would apply her degree to helping people and their pets in the veterinary industry. Her calm, friendly presence is an asset to Woodhaven. When she isn't working, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and son as well as sharing her passion for dance, by teaching children as young as 3.
Joining WVC in 2016, Leah is excited to learn more about animal husbandry and care. She is currently working on her associates degree and looks forward to growing in knowledge and experience while at WVC.
Joining WVC in 2018, Madison came to WVC with a very strong background in customer service and an interest in the medical field. She started in kennel, caring for boarding patients and keeping the hospital in tip top shape.
Finding that veterinary medicine is her passion, Madison decided to pursue a career as a veterinary technician. She was promoted to veterinary assistant in 2020 and began online tech school while working full time. When she isn't working or doing course work, she like to spend time with her supportive family and her sweet cat, Lucy.
While finishing her final year in high school and running start, Michaela worked on her veterinar assisting skills through Sno-Isle technical college. After working briefly for another local practice, she came to Woodhaven for mentorship and advancement of her skills. She looks forward to graduating, going to college and eventually, vet school to get her DVM.
Salvador joined WVC in 2020, after spending years working in CA and WA general and emergency practices. He brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to the clinic and is enjoying getting to know the Woodhaven clients.
After obtaining her Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Savannah joined WVC the summer of 2019. In the Fall of 2019 she began Veterinary School at Washington State University. She will spend breaks and summers with WVC while pursuing her DVM degree.
Outside of veterinary school, working at an ER at school, and working at WVC, Savannah loves hiking, camping, and starting new art hobbies. She also loves a good true crime podcast or book, and hanging out with her two cats.
