You may know that your veterinarian has gone through rigorous schooling and testing to enter into their profession, but did you know that your Licensed Technicians have also done extensive training and testing to obtain their licensure?
Alicia S., LVT
Alicia joined Woodhaven in 2014 after spending 4 years working in various companion animal, feline shelter and therapuetic equine services. She obtained her veterinary technician license in December of 2011 and has enjoyed being back in companion animal medicine. In her spare time, Alicia loves to geocache and work on her project car.
Jessica T., LVT
After completing her licensing certification in 2004, Jessica spent 3 years working in Texas before moving to Washington State and spending 5 years working in Anacortes as a licensed technician. She joined Woodhaven in 2012 and currently works as a licensed technician as well as our inventory manager. In her off time, Jessica loves spending time with her daughter and friends.
Makaila B., LVT
Makaila joined Woodhaven in 2015 after completing a Veterinary Technician program at Yakima Valley Community College. Known for it's small class size and intensive program, Yakima VCC provided Makaila with an excellent foundation for her career in Veterinary Medicine. An Edmonds native, Makaila was excited to return to the area and work with pets from her community.
Lauren W., LVT
Lauren joined Woodhaven in 2016 after completing her externship here through her veterinary technology program at Pierce College. Lauren is a Shoreline native who returned to the area after receiving her Bachelor’s in biology from Whitworth University in Spokane. She enjoys camping, fishing and exploring with her family and dogs, two beagle mixes, Flynn and Remy.
Christina G., LVT
Christina joined Woodhaven with 11 years of experience as a licensed veterinary technician. She graduated from Washington State University in 2003, with a Bachelor's in Zoology and from Pierce College in 2005 with an Associate's in Veterinary Technology. This field cultivates her passion of science and medicine, where she can care for every patient as her own. She enjoys creating music with her clarinet and piano, running in many local races and triathlons and traveling to tropical environments with her family.
Mel M., LVT
Mel joined Woodhaven in 2017 and brings to WVC over 15 years of experience as an LVT. She has had the pleasure of working in day practice, emergency and shelter environments. She is thrilled to join Woodhaven and develop strong relationships with the clients and pets. In her spare time she loves to volunteer and spend time with her two senior pups.
Meet our skilled Veterinary Assistant Team
Our veterinary assistants are a group of talented veterinary medical care givers who support our doctors and patients.
Halie joined WVC in 2018, after spending time working at another local practice, honing her assistant skills. She is looking forward to working in a larger practice and continuing to learn all she can about veterinary medicine. She has a very special pup named Handsome and loves bringing him to work.
Heather joined Woodhaven in 2009 after spending many years working in zookeeping. Graduating in 2003 with a Master's in Biology, Heather knew she would apply her degree to helping people and their pets in the veterinary industry. Her calm, friendly presence is an asset to Woodhaven. When she isn't working, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and son as well as sharing her passion for dance, by teaching children as young as 3.
After gaining 3 years of experience in the veterinary field at two local practices, Kaitlyn came to join the Woodhaven team. She is eager to put her friendly, caring demeanor to work taking care of the WVC patients and their families. She has an especially soft spot in her heart for Golden Retrievers. When not at work Kaitlyn loves to hang out with friends, family and her sweet Golden.
Melissa joined WVC in 2019, after spending a number of years living in Florida and working as a veterinary assistant. She has a strong interest in medicine and business and will be working on her business degree while working with WVC. You will see her splitting her time between the medical team and the front desk team, learning about all aspects of a veterinary clinic. When not at work she is usually studying and spending time with her family and fantastic pups!
After obtaining her Bachelor's in environmental science and resource management: wildlife conservation, Sara began working in various zoo and wildlife rehabilitation centers. Wanting to merge her interests, she began working in companion animal medicine in 2011, finally joining Woodhaven in 2012. In 2016, Sara began school to obtain her LVT licensure. When not at WVC Sara enjoys anything outdoors and concerts.
After obtaining her Bachelor's degree, Savannah joined WVC for the summer of 2019. In the Fall she is beginning Veterinary School at Washington State University. She will spend break and summers with WVC while pursuing her DVM.
After obtaining her veterinary assistant certificate, Victoria joined WVC and eagerly looked to absorb all that she can about veterinary medicine. She is looking forward to pursuing veterinary technician schooling and becoming licensed.
