Meet our talented Licensed Technician Team

 

 

You may know that your Veterinarian has gone through rigorous schooling and testing to enter into their profession, but did you know that your Licensed Technicians have also done extensive training and testing to obtain their licensure? The standards they are tested on and continue to be upheld to, ensure your pet is in competent, compassionate hands!

Sara R., LVT - Technician Team Manager

After obtaining her undergraduate degree at UW in wildlife management, Sara began working in various zoo and wildlife rehabilitation centers. Wanting to merge her interests, she began working in companion animal medicine in 2011, finally joining Woodhaven in 2012.


In 2019 Sara obtained her veterinary technician license after working full time and going to tech school. In 2022 she was promoted to Technician Team Manager, helping teach and support the medical staff! Her favorite parts of working in veterinary medicine include honing her technical skills and performing anesthesia. 


When not at WVC Sara enjoys playing ice hockey, traveling and taking care of her small hobby farm! Sara lives on a small homestead with her husband, their 3 dogs, Chinook, Sequoia and Rosco. The homestead is also home to 5 kitties, 2 bunnies, a flock of chickens and some busy goats!

Jessica T., LVT, Facilities/Inventory Manager 

Jessica graduated from tech school in 2004 while living in San Antonio, TX and working at her first veterinary job. After leaving the aviation maintenance field.

She and her child moved to be near family again in Anacortes, WA in 2007. There she worked at a small animal clinic that also saw injured wildlife before being taken for rehab. 

​

Jessica has been with Woodhaven since 2012 as an LVT and inventory manager. Her favorite parts of being a technician are helping our patients by educating the clients on subjects such as: behavior, dentistry, and nutrition/patient weight management. 

She enjoys spending time with her teenager, cats and ferrets, fixing things, beaches and crafts.

Alicia S., LVT

Alicia joined Woodhaven in 2014 after spending 4 years working in various companion animal, feline shelter and therapeutic equine services. She obtained her veterinary technician license in December of 2011 and has enjoyed being back in companion animal medicine. In her spare time, Alicia loves to geocache, garden (she is a plant whisperer) and work on her project car with her husband.

 

 

Emily R., LVT

 

Emily joined Woodhaven in 2024 after working for many years as an assistant and Licensed Technician at a local surgical specialty practice. 

​

She loves getting it right with animals, whether it be interpreting their behavior or accurately accessing their needs, is an extremely gratifying job for her! She loves that she can see all dogs and cats at work everyday.

 

Emily is currently back in school to earn a Bachelor’s of Science degree so she can direct her focus into Pathology.

 

When not at WVC, Emily loves reading, riding motorcycles, and taking the dogs out for adventures.

 

Emily shares her home with her husband, two fabulous cats, Jacques and Gaston, and two amazing dogs, Fiona and Simone.

Lauren W., LVT

Lauren joined the Woodhaven team in 2016 after completing her associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology at Pierce College. She also has a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Whitworth University.

 

Lauren loves being part of the Woodhaven family and caring for all of our fabulous patients. She has a strong love of dentistry and is often your dental technician!

 

In her free time Lauren enjoys kayaking, camping, fishing, gardening, photography and spending quality time with her family. She is always up for an adventure with her wonderful beagle, Remy.

Molly V., LVT

Molly joined Woodhaven in 2022 and brings to WVC years of experience as an LVT. She has had the pleasure of working in day practice and emergency clinics. She loves anesthesia and surgery. 

​

When not working, Molly loves to spend time with her dogs Ruger and Strider, and a group of demanding kitties.

Our veterinary assistants are a group of talented veterinary medical care givers who support our doctors and patients.

Dani M. 

In 2022 Dani joined the Woodhaven team after working elsewhere as a veterinary assistant for almost 10 years. She also has her Bachelors of Science in Zoology. She has volunteered at various animal shelters, and a few wildlife rescues, including one in south Africa!

​

Dani has a strong love animal of all types (penguins and hedgehogs being her top favorites.) She loves the science and why behind why we do what we do. She loves learning what problem an animal may have, what diagnostics/treatments we may use to help that animal get well and what causes these types of problems or diseases. To her, there is nothing more satisfying than a happy client and helping an animal feel better! 

​

Dani’s favorite part of working in vet medicine is interacting with the pets and helping them realize that the vet is not a scary place. 

​

In the future she hopes to learn more about exotic pet care, as well as hydrotherapy.

​

When she isn’t working, she enjoys family time, kayaking, biking, and finding new walking/hiking trials. At home Dani cares for her spirited pup Penny, cat: Lulu, guinea pig: Penelope, Leopard gecko: Alfred, betta fish and assorted tropical fish!

Hannah B.

Hannah started working at WVC in 2021 after working at the Forest Park Animal Farm and Broadway Animal Hospital. She completed a Veterinary Assistant program at Pima Medical in 2020. Hannah has always enjoyed working with animals and have a few furry critters of her own. She loves all animals big and small, but bunnies are one of her favorites.

 

While not working or hanging out with one of her furry friends, she enjoy's drawing, hiking, and playing the guitar. Hannah is excited to continue to learn and grow here at WVC and feels very fortunate to be able to do what she loves.

Heather H.

Heather joined Woodhaven in 2009 after spending many years working in zookeeping. Graduating in 2003 with a Master's in Biology, Heather knew she would apply her degree to helping people and their pets in the veterinary industry. Her calm, friendly presence is an asset to Woodhaven. When she isn't working, Heather enjoys spending time with her son as well as sharing her passion for dance, by teaching children as young as 3.

Leah S.

Joining WVC in 2016, Leah is excited to learn more about animal husbandry and care. She is currently working on her associates degree and looks forward to growing in knowledge and experience while at WVC.

Olivia S. 

Originally from Syracuse, NY, Olivia earned her degree in Aquatics and Fisheries Science from SUNY ESF. She decided to change careers from a Fisheries Biologist to Vet Assistant when she wanted a career where she could make an immediate difference in an animal's life. After working at another local practice, Olivia joined Woodhaven in 2021. 

 

Olivia was an equestrian/horse-owner (and still lover of) horses for the past 14 years, doing hunter jumping competitions.

She is married, to her wonderful husband Greg, who she's been with for 6 years, and they live locally with our terrier mutt pup, Scotty. When not caring for Woodhaven patients, Olivia loves to go hiking with Greg and Scotty, backpacking, and recently began rock climbing both indoors and outdoors.

 

Olivia is currently enrolled in Penn Foster to get earn her License as a Veterinary Technician. She is excited to work on a large team of experienced LVTs and assistants.

Tegan S. 

 Tegan joined WVC in 2022, after doing an externship through his animal assisting program at Sno-Isle Technical College. His passion for animals has also led him to intern with a local horse stable/barn, where he has spent 5 years riding horse, learning how to train and build relationship with horses through natural horsemanship and he aspires to own his own horse in the future.

 

At home he has two cats, a dog and a snake!

 

Tegan has a strong interest in animal behavior, training, learning new things and is working on his college education.
